Salone del Mobile with Space Encounters

“A cutting edge: Show, Bar, Hang Out, Experience, Meet, Greet, and Creative Hub all in one”. BAR ANNE was designed by Space Encounters, an award winning architectural firm from Amsterdam. Merged with a spectacular installation by Children of the Light.

The interior was created by some of the biggest break out talents including Rick Tegelaar, VanTot, Mae Engelgeer, Klaas Kuiken, Dirk van der Kooij, Muller Van Severen, Jolan van der Wiel, HandMade Industrials, Jelle Mastenbroek, Sabine Marcelis, Brit van Nerven, Kranen/Gille and ourselves.

BAR ANNE was far from a regular exhibition. It was not pretentious; it was very easy going. It was low profile instead of high profile. It was open and not restrictive. It was inclusive instead of exclusive. Why? Because all the designs were in use. You could try them, test them, sit on them, jump on them and even sleep on them.

The Wave Reflector presented for the first time

The Wave Reflector installation

At Bar Anne we presented a new work called The Wave Reflector. The wave reflector is part of a bigger research we did for an upcoming show. The installation consists of an object with the function of visually rearranging the space around the object. It offers the opportunity to experience the surroundings in another way by capturing light and other kind of waves from space and reflecting them back to the spectator in a rearranged way.

A spectacular installation by Children of the Light.

Anne van der Zwaag was the curator, writer, entrepreneur, ambassador of the Dutch design scene and MC of BAR ANNE.
